Modern Orthodox shul on the Upper East Side of Manhattan seeks a Youth Director to create a vibrant
program for children age 3 – 17. We are looking for a self-starter (a combination of camp, youth
leadership and/or teaching experience), who will build relationships with our young children, teens and
their families.
The candidate will:
Serve as a positive role model and provide coaching and training for our teen youth leaders who assist
with Shabbat and holiday programming for children through age 12.
Create Jewish learning experiences and implement key events and programs to corresponds with the
Jewish calendar. For example, Sukkah decorating, Tu b’Shevat Planting, Tot Shabbats, Teen dinners, PJ
Havdalah, and Family Movie Nights
Develop Budget for events and programs.
Engage parents and recruit parent volunteers for events
Plan specific programs for teens
Attend weekly Shabbat morning and Yomim Tovim services, as well as Saturday night and Sunday
programs once a month. Salary : $30,000 depending on experience.
